To study the effect of soil contaminated with four concentrations of lead (0, 150, 300, 450 mg kg-1) on the vegetative and root growth characteristics. The results showed a significant decrease in the vegetative and root growth characteristics with an increase in lead concentrations, except for the diameter of the main stem of plants, which was not recorded. Any significant differences between the treatments,. In addition, lead contamination caused color paleness and then falling down of leaves as well as it caused coloring the roots in a dark brown color with decrease in their thickness.
